I am reminded of the scene in the ID4 movie, where the president (played by Bill Pullman, iirc) is questioning the use of nuclear weapons on the alien ships where conventional weapons have not worked. Spot on about UNWRA and the perma-refugee project. Millions of people had to move in tragic circumstances in the 1940s. As the Soviets pushed Poland west, millions of Germans from eastern Germany and Poles from eastern Poland had to leave their homes and head west. Oddly, there are no sprawling refugee camps in Glasow and Tantow, full of resentful German’s tunnelling under the Polish border and plotting murder in order to get great uncle Helmut’s sausage groves in the outskirts of Stettin back..

I can relate to Bill’s obvious rage at the monsters of the world. HAMAS is one of many of those monsters, and it seems to me in this modern era that we continue to allow the monsters to dwell in our midst. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but Bill’s comments remind me that, the number one rule in government is to never, ever, ever solve a problem. Government’s primary focus is to identify problems and to manage those problems at an acceptable level for eternity. That is why many in government hate Donald Trump (because he solves problems) and that is also what fuels the eternal wars in the Middle East.
