Biden’s Inflation Problem

People are unhappy, and Team Biden doesn’t understand why: inflation rates have been going down for almost a year! The problem is that people aren’t comparing what their wallet looks like now compared to a year ago; they’re comparing what their wallet looks like now to what it looked like FOUR years ago.

Would just like to know who the a–hole who is rating these videos less than 5. This taking food out of their mouths. They are judged by ratings. What, everything must be perfect for you and in your eyes alone. But you can’t say what you disagree about it in a comment. I just don’t get it. But, feel free.

ECON 101: Wage increases have nothing to do with causing inflation. There is too much (counterfeit) money in the economy. It’s just another governmental responsibility dodge. Inflation ALWAYS stems from Washington, DC. All the other ups & downs are merely measures of where those counterfeit dollars flow.

Well, this has finally appeared on the BW site. I see that I am two days late for the comment party, because this is first I’ve seen it on the site. I certainly don’t think that the problem is on my end, but who knows? Regardless, inflation is NOT a mental condition! It is a consequence of supply and demand, which applies to both goods AND labor. When the bastages in the legislatures continually screw with one side (minimum wages, taxation and excessive regulation) of the highly non-linear equation called the economy, then it becomes largely unbalanced and unpredictable, aside… Read more »

Inflation is not a speed, but a rate of increase. If inflation decreases it does not mean we are going slower, instead we are just not speeding up as much. Biden saying it is slower does not mean much to people who want it to actually go down, so prices drop back to where they were (which usually doesn’t happen, unless things are going quite bad). If when he was elected, Biden told the country there would be some hard times ahead as a result of the Covid lockdowns, payments to keep businesses going while closed, and a host of… Read more »

It is unclear why you are arguing about a distinction between “speed” and “inflation,” but I think you are confusing your word definitions. “[S]peed” is a rate (typically to measure motion without any indication of direction). Inflation is a fractional change of cost/expense over a period of time — ergo it is a measure of the change of the cost of goods and/or services per unit time, which is akin to speed. Both are first derivative terms in the parlance of calculus. Regardless of that, you are correct in stating that the current Executive Branch of the USA government is… Read more »

Yeah I don’t think I said that as clearly as it was in my head. I was trying to use the difference between speed or velocity and acceleration to compare inflation, increases in inflation and people’s overall impression of wages and prices. I do not think this video posted on the site visibly at first. I normally get the e-mail that a new segment was posted, delete the email, and later visit the site to watch these. When I could not find the segment I had to go back to my e-mail, click the link there, and then saw the… Read more »

Nothing will be corrected until the voting system is overhauled and scrubbed clean. “I don’t care about who votes. I care about who counts the votes” Until this unstable voting system is sanitized and sterilized it will continue to be infected with deception and deceit. In sepsis, just administering an antibiotic is rarely enough. One must drain the principle abscess and debride the wound while keeping it clean. At times, despite all other efforts, an amputation of the diseased appendage is the only alternative. This is performed with the hope of saving the patients’ life. The country, is at that… Read more »

It’s not just comparing prices now to 4 years ago, but from year to year. Maybe inflation is only 3,5% this year from last, but that’s 3,5% more than last year when it was 9%. it keeps rising. until the government stops spending money it doesn’t have, the inflation train will keep running. we need someone like Reagan & Volcker to shrink the money supply. It will cause some short-term pain, but in the end it will be better for the economy and the country.

If the government dumps a lot of money into the economy, it increases the money supply and decreases the value of each individual dollar. That is not “largely a mental condition.” It is not even remotely a mental condition. If the government policies reduce the energy supply, the cost of energy will increase and thereby increase the cost of everything. That also is not “largely a mental condition.” It is not even remotely a mental condition. If state or local governments allow up to $900 of theft (per incident) that will greatly raise the cost of doing business and the… Read more »

Gosh darn Scott. You’re talking like the 2024 presidential election (and the vote count) will be fair and honest. Bless your naive little heart….nelson
