After 77 years, the greatest alliance in human history is definitely showing its age. Can a rudderless and increasingly anti-Western Europe be counted on any longer to provide the money and effort needed to save itself?

Bill’s opening statement reminds me of “A Few Good Men”
“You want me in that Gulf, you need me in that Gulf!!”

The Royal Navy, the ‘unbeatable foe’ of yesteryear, is now the dinghy that Jack Sparrow drives into (under) the pier in “Pirates of The Caribbean”.

Those European countries that “closed their airspace to US forces”: So what? None of them have anything that can stand up to our military. F’em. Go through anyway. They can’t stop us.

Brittan is so influenced by muslims in their government that this is not surprising.

As a physician, I’m bombarded by complaints, legitimate complaints, about the cost of care. “Europe takes care of its people” with socialized medicine, they say. They “afford this” because they are leaving responsibility for their defense to the USA. (Never mind that in many countries on the other side of the pond there is “death by queue”, standing in line until you are dead.). And here in America, only 30% of people, the insured with crazy high deductibles, pay for EVERYTHING! They’re effete hypocrites. Their countries are being stolen from under their noses. They are sacrificing their young women, the… Read more »

Bill, a question for you. If you want to stay in NATO, and you assert that the U.S. is pretty doggone good at diplomacy, what is it about getting OUT of NATO and using that excellent diplomatic influence to keep and even expand the spread of our military assets? In other words, why is membership in NATO a requirement to have bases outside of our borders? I served active duty in Germany for not quite 15 years in the 80s and half of the 90s. I’ve encountered NATO at a very small, tiny level. My impression was then, and is… Read more »

We need to cut the Italian PM, Meloni some slack she is on board but her dysfunctional parliament makes congress look like its working. In most EU countries there are elections soon with the pro Maga Civic Nationalist parties slated to win. High oil driven inflation actually helps them. Giorgia Meloni Is in the UAE right now and may send Troops and assets there. You don’t need ships to open the Straits of hormuz, its only 28 – 40 miles wide. You use helicopters, drone boats, fighter/ bombers and the US has A 10 Warthogs there already. The IRGC have… Read more »

There are pipelines bypassing the Strat that can reportedly handle 1% of the oil demand. That’s limited by how many ships they can load at once so they are building 3 km of extra deep water loading docks. The pipes are full, the tanks at Fujairah are full, two burned nicely but there is 200 of them. There is a carrier group off the port providing cap and destroying anything coming from Iran’s direction that looks at anyone funny. Several countries are paying the Iranian Diplomates a dollar a barrel to get their ships out of the Strait. The Diplomats… Read more »
