For the first time in history, AI weapons are being deployed in the battlefields of Ukraine that are programmed to kill human beings without other human beings being part of that decision loop.
This is not just another advance in weapons tech. This is a Rubicon to be crossed at our moral peril.

There should be available disincentives to warfare that will hopefully encourage the antagonists to seek an alternative solution to their disagreement.
This reminds me of an original Star Trek episode where the people who are in a strike zone (which lights up an area with no physical damage) are required to go to a pod where they are zapped to death. No blood, no terror just a computer telling you you’re dead.
I think I have to go with Scott on this one. To Bill’s point, the person sending the drones is no different than the person sending the order to bomb (and kill) everything within a certain area. Just like the bombs, somebody IS giving the order to send the drones.
