You Knew I Was a Snake When You Picked Me Up

Commie Jihadi — sorry, I meant to say Socialist Islamist — Zohran Mamdani has been elected mayor of America’s Number One city. With any luck he will give the idiots on that island asylum EXACTLY what they voted for.

What’s it going to take? Dearborn. Now 55% Arab, and white people are now being mobbed and shouted at to leave the city.

I have never …. ever …. had any desire to go to New York City. Now I REALLY don’t want to go.

I love the snake analogy, but another meme-ish version might suggest that Zoram was a scorpion who needs a ride across the East River on the backs of the voter frogs.

People fretting that things aren’t affordable in NYC strikes me as funny. As a young (but older than most) father, I brought my family to Broadway to see “The Lion King”, “The Nutcracker”, and “The Rockettes”. Just the tip asking my hotel’s concierge to find me tickets for the “Lion King” would have been $300 if I knew I was supposed to tip him. (I was a rube). Great seats, unforgettable show, in the long run maybe “worth it” it could be argued. Affordable? Hahahaha. My son just did the Disney World Orlando thing. I think his credit rating just… Read more »

I think Bill hit the nail with his remark about the lost need for cities. Lately they have become a gathering point for those who want to live off the largess of the government, and are willing to become professional protesters to do so. So, that’s likely the replacement theory. Because of that, cities have become largely DIFFERENT than the rest of the US, and perhaps should be treated so. I’m not sure the founders could have foreseen this, and accommodated for it in our constitution. But perhaps it is time we did. Separate the cities from the rest of… Read more »

Violating the Tenth Commandment (Thou shalt not covet…) is responsible for at least 80% of the problems in the world.

The 98% tax rate in UK could explain Jonathan Higgins working with Robin Masters.

This segment reminds me of the Ed Koch quote as he left office. The People have spoken…and they must be punished. That being said, I’m not confident that there will be a lessen learned in NYC. Many of the things Mamdani has promised to his voters are beyond the scope of the office of Mayor. When he can’t do the things he promised, he’ll blame other people. He wanted to do all the things, but the bad people who oppose him wouldn’t let him do the things. All those who want to live in the “socialist utopia”, won’t get to… Read more »

Yes, they will continue to whine that it would work if they were allowed to go “true socialist”. And complain that it would have worked if the right had not blocked them.

Growing up in a very rural environment in the 60’s and early 70’s meant that to me NYC was an alien planet populated by characters from movies like “Midnight Cowboy” and “Taxi Driver”. I never wanted anything to do with that place, have never crossed the boundary into any of the 5 boroughs (more like warrens) and never intend to. Even after Giuliani’s “scouring of the Shire” I thought “Well good for them, still not going there.” Because it’s a shithole as far as I’m concerned. I know, I know, it’s not like the movies and there are some good… Read more »

thank you so much my dear friend from , I believe, my home state. I used to go to NYC to deliver goods from points across this great nation and I am retired now for 7 years. If refrigerated trucks would simply refuse to deliver loads of fresh produce and meat to Hunts Point for one week, the great city of New York would be on a starvation diet which would take a year to recover from. The new mayor may just get the chance to govern the city into its demise without even trying. I believe you are exactly… Read more »

This is why I never got the Trucker Convoy protests up in Canada or in Europe. Go Master Blaster on the cities, and after a week or two of embargo leadership will be singing a different tune when the peasants are banging on their doors

I voted w/my feet from CA, selling my 1060 sft home (0.2 acre) near Long Beach for $900K — that’s $4,5000,000/acre! The average $/sqft for a 3-4 br Manhattan condo ~ $2900/sft or $126,324,000/acre! Comare that to developed land (TN) ~$500K/acre, with rual land ~$25K/acre. As Biden would say “come’on man”. IMHO, anyone living/working there is either ‘trapped’ or totally out of touch from 99.9% of the USA populous. When I was still working, I’d avoid any trips there (e;g;, symposia, etc.) – just not worth it. I was there in tower #1, just 6 months prior to it coming… Read more »

Same here, I lived in San Pedro just across the Vincent Thomas bridge from LB. I still have clients there though as they age they are getting fewer and fewer. I won’t go back there under any circumstances and told the people I work for as much. A couple of them have literally begged me to come back and I will do no more in that direction than offer my sincere but firm apologies. The last person I really cared anything about in Los Angeles died a couple years back. As far as I’m concerned if it falls off in… Read more »
