I worked at a McDonalds when I was in college, one of my very first jobs when I was something like 19 yrs old. A scammer “short-change artist” did a quick change thing on me and, even though I called a manager partway through the process after I realized that I had lost track of what had happened, that didn’t help. My cash drawer came up short, $20 I think, and I was fired from my job. It wasn’t even a matter of them asking me to make up the difference. I was summarily fired.
