In the late 1980’s Ronald Reagan launched the Strategic Defense Initiative — SDI, commonly called Star Wars back in the day. Unfeasible at the time, 40 years of computer and materials advancements may have changed that equation.

For some reason I couldn’t get this on Rumble, so here I am. I am old enough to remember Disney’s world of the future, and I really miss my flying cars. When Reagan was doing his Star Wars stuff I was in the Canadian military. Sadly, the CF isn’t even close to what it was then. My husband at the time (ex now) knew more about SW, than I did at the time. My clearance level was pretty high but we didn’t talk about his work or mine, different branches. Better not to ask and be told “I can tell… Read more »
How long until “the Jewish space lasers” are true, too?
“The United States is the most dangerous power that ever existed on the face of the Earth.” That is true but . The way you said that it sounded to me like you think the U.S being “dangerous” is a bad thing and the world would be better off if we weren’t quite so dangerous. “Dangerous” and “Threat” are not the same thing. An armed police officer is dangerous. To criminals. A rattlesnake is dangerous if you go wandering around in snake country and don’t watch your step an/or go sticking your hands and feet into places where you can’t… Read more »
“Righteous restraint” that our enemies “cannot understand.”
So true.
Yeah, historically wars have been fought for resources or security. Either to get or defend ag land minerals, water etc. Or to I.E. take a mountain pass to keep an enemy from invading by that route. Which the taker then promptly uses to invade his neighbor. People haven’t changed much but the world has. America doesn’t need any resources that we don’t already have or can acquire through global trade. This is why the U.S. champions and enforces freedom of the high seas. Trade provides an outlet for our production and work for our people. Weapon systems are one of… Read more »
You are a Marine with firearms skills and other skills, and that makes you dangerous. I have chemcal, computer and other skills that make me dangerous. But neither of us is a threat unless threatened.
Now, if certain people on this site including you and me got together to act on a threat…..
… then that threat would find out the meaning of “dangerous” and not in the way Scott meant it. 🙂
not having watched the video yet, your comments about danger and threat reminded me of a meme I saw.
I am so memorizing that. Into my mental “filing cabinet” under: “Good ones to be used as approprate and as often as possible”
I might as well post the image. I am not sure if I have here or not.
That is a thing called “wisdom’ and something we need more of. I recall seeing a thing about WWII vets that really stuck with me. Prior to WWII militaries were hide-bound traditionalists. They had a “this is the way it’s done and don’t even think about doing it any other way” sort of attitude. This was called “soldiering”. People were expected to die traditionally and for tradition. Tactics were built around that doctrine. America said, “Yeah, screw that nonsense, we have to win this one.” and waded into the fight not “soldiering” but brawling. For example –. The average German… Read more »
Having watched the video, one comment: I think Scott did not mean it was bad we were dangerous, but said Others call us dangerous. He seemed happy we had the weapons and would rather we than others. Some people seem to focus on Christ’s admonition to turn the other cheek. They seem to forget that when He sent them out the second time He told them to sell their cloaks and buy swords. I think that some people have been led to believe that guns are dangerous and scary and thus they support bans. Criminals are using guns all the… Read more »
Much to others chagrin, when some people say Christians are to always be pacifists, I bring up Jesus telling his disciples to buy swords….which are weapons of war at the time. Add in Jesus cleaning out the money changers with a whip. And the turning the check was a slap, intended as an insult, not an attack. Thus meaning to let the insult occur.
And when “Thou shalt not kill” is cited, I sigh and point out it’s a bad translation. It should be, in modern English, “You shall not murder.” Not all killing of humans is murder.
…and another thing Christians tend to do is focus solely on the New Testament when Jesus was physically present corporally and temporally as a human being. As though that were the sum total of Yeshua’s duration and influence. It’s not. Jesus IS God (John 1:1, John 14:9) Christian Theology maintaining the doctrine of the Trinity indicates that Yeshua was present and active in ALL acts of God from Creation to the present day. Jesus being The Word, the actual implementation of the Will of God –Means that he was a major instrumental factor in things like the frying of Sodom… Read more »
Oh boy, do you have a point about many Christians not paying attention to the Old Testament Yup, you rightfully point out the violence in the OT. Same God as in the new covenant, which was planned from the beginning. Jesus pointed out the He came not to destroy the Law, but to fulfill it. And I think some Christians think we should be only nice. I heard recently a difference between nice and kind. They discribed it in length, but I have an example. Someone is running to the edge of a cliff, not knowing that. Nice is saying… Read more »
