Appologies for long post ahead of time: My opinion? (1) Aircraft image is false – unclassified click bait. (2) The aircraft is/was a technology flight demonstrator. (3) Aircraft is meant for international sales, so no high-end stealth features, low-hanging fruit only. The lack of inlets screams – wrong! Look at the rectangular base behind the round engine fan. Nucking Futz if you think that’s real. Looks like there is room for an i/b inlet-airflow diverter/gutter, which might imply a higher speed aircraft. Um Rich, I hate to destroy a good rant, but Bill labeled the image as ClickBait. Just wanted a cool image for the story. Personally I would have gone with a drone swarm. But that is just personal preference.
True. I acknowledged that in part (1) of rant, stating that it was labled ‘click bait’. It’s not the 1st time images have been ‘sanitized’ for release. 🙂

It is from a goofy 1980s movie with Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase and the lovely Mrs Aykroyd (Donna Dixon) “Spies Like Us”. Some military types turn an abandoned drive-in into a laser. Then have Chase and Aykroyd launch a Soviet Nuke at the US so they can shoot it down with their laser toy.
