This is a skank …

English is an amazing language. One letter changes the meaning of a word yet they all refer to something repulsive.

Bill, you and others refer to Harris as being black. But from what I understand, she is half Indian and half Jamaican. Obviously, those from India re not black and I do not believe Jamaicans consider themselves black; so that means Ms. Harris is not black.

Ah, but you seem to forget that all identity is fluid in the modern, woke culture. This fluidity of identity allows for political conveniences like the “first black VP” BS with which we’ve been inundated for several years.

Second and third generation Jamaicans will be black if it benefits them. But you are correct, most do not call themselves black.

If Kamala heads the ticket, Newsom can’t be her running mate, they are both Californians. Not that Democrats have a difficult time ignoring the Constitution…

I was thinking the same thing. It’s why Trump and DeSantis couldn’t be on the same ticket.

From what I read about the 12th amendment, It is legal for the Prez and VP candidates come form the same state; however, the Electoral College delegates from California can not vote for both of them. The EC delegates vote for the Prez and then vote for the VP, so Either Harris or Newsom will not get the CA EC votes if they win in November.

I am open to the idea I could be wrong, but that is how I understood an article about the issue.

This is correct. So if it’s close you could have a Harris Vance admin.

Or could have had a Trump Harris if he chose DeSantis or Rubio.

In addition to the problem noted by Ersatz earlier, I keep coming to this question which I think is an issue in completing the ticket. Why would anyone run as the VP right now when 2028 is going to be wide open for Dems? Is it better to run as VP and LOSE, gaining some national exposure, or wait for the next cycle and come in clean? Trump can’t run again, so 2028 GOP will be a wide open contest. It will not be handed to JD Vance no matter how well things are going. Some combination of DeSantis, Youngkin,… Read more »

I agree with this. I also think that the Dem elites are pretty much resigned to Trump, with the plan to blame him for all the bad problems put in place during this last 4 years. They don’t like Kamala, so they give her the shot and she’ll lose, so they can say “you tried, now bye bye”. Newsome is smart and ambitious, (and horrible, but Dems are okay with that), so I don’t see him burning his Presidential bid as a running mate of Kamala. He’s looking at 2028, and he’s hoping that some of his time as SF… Read more »

If strategy overcomes political avarice then you have a point. Democrats are not known for favoring delayed gratification so we’ll see what we see. I don’t think the 2008 nomination will be handed to JD Vance either but that doesn’t mean he can’t possibly be the nominee. I can only hope the Republican Party learned its “Your turn, my turn” lesson with Romney and McCain and doesn’t hand a damn thing to anyone that doesn’t earn it by the will of the people not by favor of party insiders. Much will depend on the success of the Trump administration over… Read more »

Your turn, my turn” lesson with Romney and McCain  Romney and McCain – harumph. This goes back at least as far as Bob Dole. One could argue that the last real shootout before trump in 2016 was Reagan. Maybe Bush II had to fight it out a little but it was really him and McCain, and as my folks said, most people hated McCain for the banking crisis. They respected his service but thought he was a twerp (my dad’s word) and couldn’t be trusted. So we had Dole, then Bush the younger, then McCain, Romney, then it was supposed… Read more »

It does sort of seem that when the system is allowed to do what it’s intended to do without interference from any particular elite group that has the power to fully sway, we get a lot better leadership and the country prospers exponentially. Go figure.

It’s almost like The Will of the People is a good thing, when it’s allowed to be applied.

If there was ever a conspiracy theory exposed more thoroughly as true, it is that there is a “Deep State” in control of the Federal Government. If there was ever a time to flush the pipes of the sewer that is Washington, DC, it is now. If there was ever a less “Deep State” beholden candidate than Trump, …

I don’t see why Gavin will run with Kamala, because Gavin just signed CA law AB 1955 (trans kids have rights to keep parents from knowing what the rest of the school knows)

Putting Newsom on the ticket with Harris comes with a Constitutional problem (assuming that the Dems feel at all bound by that old paper scrap!). Article II and Amendment XII state that Electors cannot cast votes for two individuals from their own state, i.e. one of the two must be from another state. If the race weren’t close or if it were a small state, this might not be significant. But 54 electoral votes that couldn’t be cast for the VP on the ticket? I don’t see that happening. And it’s not like they can do what Cheney did back… Read more »

I think you might have missed one key point. With Biden stepping down, the Dems are now free to make age an issue, and will almost certainly attack Trump with it, even to the point of using their own man as an example!

I just saw three posts on Twitter from main stream Democrats who say “Now Trump is the oldest person that has ever campaigned for President.”

If that is the way they are saying it, they are quite incorrect.
Trump is the oldest person campaigning currently.
Until Sunday, Biden was running and is still the oldest person to campaign for President.

Age never was the issue, it was mental degradation that was the issue. The DEMOCRATS tried to make the issue “age” but that was just them blowing smoke on the problem. All Trump has to do is take a cognitive test and publish the results, something that Biden was never willing to do.

Then Trump should make a really big deal out of taking a test that Joe never would so that people understand the real issue is mental acuity not raw age. I’d LOVE to see Kacklin’ Kammy the Skank-Ho take a cognitive test too. That would be interesting.

Heh … If she’s the nominee then during their first debate Trump should walk out with a pair of knee pads in his hand and ask her if she’d like to get comfortable in her default position. Stick with what you know, Kammy baby.
