And Lo, the Angel of Death did sweep down among the Pharisees in Washington, and their inboxes ran red with blood, and they were sore afraid… Many of us who have worked real jobs are offended by federal workers being offended about being asked to list what they did last week!

Well said, Scott. Now, we just need the ‘judges’ to uphold the Constitution and rule so the president can get on with keeping his promise to get rid of waste and fraud!

I’m a ‘double dipper’…20 years military, and 20 years municipal government. I constantly had to document my ‘productivity’, but I was always a maintenance worker…not an admin worker.

Scott, your summary comments were priceless! I think the Republicans in Congress ought to repeat them over and over whenever they get near a press microphone.

I am speaking as a retired civil servant. One thing always on my mind: I am working for the taxpayer. They are paying my salary, even though the check was ‘signed’ by the city. Was I perfect, probably not, (who is). But, I knew who actually signed my paycheck.
Always grateful.

You gentlemen cringe at the idea of 2×10^6 federal employees. I live in the Kansas City area and I have been cringing for some years at the mention that the largest employer in the Kansas City area is the federal government.

If I remember correctly, the single largest employer in the entire state of Wyoming is GOVERNMENT!!! That is a combination of local (city and county), state and federal. Granted, there is only 587,618 total population in the state. As of December 24 2024 there is a total of 70.5K government employees in Wyoming. If my math is correct then 1 in every 8.3 citizens in Wyoming work for the government. Sure seems like a lot to me. (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/WYGOVT)

#1 Response from a typical bureucrat will be, “I don’t know what I did but I was very busy!” times 5 days, bullet points attained! Send my paycheck, and I will advise next week!!

It is depressing to me that, unless we make perfect decisions, then any attempts to reduce waste and fraud are useless.
