From the recent introduction of police bodycam videos, one constant, infuriating theme emerges: serious charges, such drunk driving, disorderly behavior, criminal trespassing and even assault on police officers, are simply being DROPPED by prosecutors. We don’t seem to be having any trouble catching criminals; the challenge seems to be making an arrest more than a minor inconvenience when we do.

Steve, my deepest sympathies on your loss. My blood ran cold when I heard you say it, so I can’t even begin to imagine what you must be going through.

Milwaukee will soon lose its Soros backed soft on crime district attorney John Chisolm. He isn’t running for re-election. I hope his deputy that is rumored to run is either not in his same mold or is beaten when the people of the city wake up. Contrary to Scott’s giving the benefit of the doubt to judges, we have a number of soft on crime judges in the city as well, sentencing people convicted of assault, theft, carjacking, etc to 2-5 years, then putting a stay on that punishment and giving the thug probation instead. There are constant stories in… Read more »

Bill, you’re absolutely right that “we’re going to see a lot more of this before we see a lot less”. Just check-out the many videos by school teachers complaining about 10-13 year-olds. in middle school (grades 6th thru 9th). These kids are impossible to teach because they have no respect for their teachers, their school administrators, their classmates, or anything else. They refuse to learn or do their schoolwork. They cannot be disciplined by their teachers or administrators because their parent(s) don’t teach or discipline them. These brats (“Gen A”(?)) come to middle school unprepared and ‘graduate’ to high school… Read more »

About 15 years ago I was asked to go to an arraignment hearing with two young neighbors. They had gotten into an argument that escalated, the young lady knocked the young man’s phone out of his hand as he was trying to call police to settle the situation down. The young lady was, as she was wont to do, getting completely out of control. The young man did not shove her down, but pushed her down to a seated position on the ground trying to restrain her. A neighbor called the police on HIM and when police arrived, claimed he… Read more »

“…, we have a criminal justice BUSINESS.”

Therein dwells the sole motivation for Civil Asset Forfeiture and so many other immoral and unethical behaviors in our society.

Even the ancients understood “broken windows”. I always remember as a kid reading the Aesop’s Fables tale: The Thief and his Mother. For obvious reasons you won’t find this story in any modern Aesop’s Fables collection, but it makes the point Bill was making in spades. You can read it at https://aesopsfables.org/F137_The-Thief-and-His-Mother.html

Thanks for the link and the reminder of a good tale.
For those interested, it is VERY short.

Cops have no sense of boundaries because of “qualified immunity” like the cop that shot a doctor laying on the ground trying to protect his autistic patients with a toy truck. The shot doctor asked “why did you shot me” and the cops said “I don’t know.” You 3 have become liberal boot lickers just like the German population of Nazi Germany.

You do the same thing the militant Left does. There are literally tens of thousands of interactions between law enforcement officers and civilians every day across this country. You pick the most extreme, most grievous mistakes made by police, which are exceedingly rare, and try to make out like that’s representative of the entire area of law enforcement. When in fact the things you make out to be common are representative only of 0.00001% of events where law enforcement and civilians interact. The other 99.99999% of what law enforcement does you completely ignore. Cops are fallible human beings too. That’s… Read more »

Your false equivalence of the egregious evils of the Nazi Regime and a general law enforcement population brands you as nothing more than an ignorant fool who is likely deserving of the boot you claim has been licked.

are not cops the people enforcing make believe gender pronouns?
didn’t the cops arrest Kyle rettinghouse for self defense, didn’t the cops arrest MANY people for carrying a firearm for self defense, Arne’t the cops the ones enforcing the laws denying TEACHERS the right to self defense and the chance to protect the students? COPS ARE the problem for messing with people that are NOT criminals just like the cops that arrested the man for growing and selling organic food in Pennsylvania?

COPS ARE the problem

This makes me wonder if you know any LEOs. I know several dozen and can assure you that they are not as you perceive. The last several I have met are due to Mrs Ron having a stalker. These interactions have all been professional and empathetic. And kept me from doing something that would have been potentially regrettable.

Hating the police is evidence of criminality. A criminal mind hates the police because the police are the barrier denying criminal activity and holding criminals accountable for their crimes. The more hatred, the more criminal the hater. As for doing something regrettable, I’ve said it before — You’re a better man than me. As long as I was in the right and legal the only thing I’d find regrettable is cleaning up the mess after the problem was remedied to my satisfaction. I’m crafty enough to find a way to be legal so … Stalkers can just FAAFO why stalking… Read more »

I’d be willing to bet that Bill Whittle has a better understanding of the Constitution than you ever will. I take that back. I’m Certain of it.
And if you ever mustered up the balls to debate him on the Constitution and Constitutional law, he would leave you curled up in a corner crying.

You strike me as a Sovereign Citizen type. The opinions you spout on this forum are ridiculous on their face and completely out of touch with reality.

” … the cops are enforcing an UNLAWFUL statues … ” I’ll assume you meant “statutes” just because I don’t think even you can be dumb enough to mean actual statues. The article “an” is out of place in that sentence too, so I’m wondering if American English isn’t your first language or you just never learned how to write when you were a kid. All that aside, fine, WHICH “unlawful statues” are cops enforcing and WHY are they unlawful? You made a claim, back it up with proof. Trot it out here, Skippy, let’s see what you’ve got. Being… Read more »
