A small town in Canada — a very small town — refused to fly the Rainbow Flag during ‘Pride Month’ for two excellent reasons: One, they didn’t fly anyone else’s flag all year, and two, they didn’t have a flagpole. But that was more than a gay activist group could bear. So they complained to the ominously-named Canadian Human Rights TRIBUNAL who fined the town $10,000 and the Mayor of the town — personally — $5000. Plus re-education camp, obviously.

But they didn’t fly the flag.

One of your best! Now I know why I keep my membership to Right Angle!

A few years ago when the Lefties threw a fit over their Pride flags not being flown over our embassies, I responded that we did fly a flag representing them – it’s the American flag.
I’ve found a better term for the isn’t the gay mafia – I think it was Mark Steyn who coined the phrase, “Gaystapo”.
And it’s a damned shame what’s happening behind The Maple Curtain, but thankfully it looks like Vladimir Poutene might finally be finished.

If someone is trying to rob you show your piece and threaten to defend yourself…

blame the COPS because they are the only people with GUNS to FORCE compliance.

Funny, I know a LOT of “people with guns” that are not “COPS”. If someone with a gun but no lawful authority wants to they can “FORCE compliance”. Thank God and the laws of The Republic the cops you malign would have something to say about that.

Your claim is nonsense.

NEVER pay ANY fine because it violates the 8th Amendment, the 6th Amendment because there is no accuser.

The accuser is always The People in a criminal case. That’s you, and me, and every other citizen in the jurisdiction in question. YOU are included whether you want to be or not, whether you accept and acknowledge your inclusion or not. YOU don’t get to opt out, sorry. YOUR consent is not required to enforce OUR laws and you don’t get a veto over anything. If YOU could do these things then the Rule of Law would be meaningless and society would be anarchic. The Founding Fathers purpose in establishing OUR REPUBLIC was not to create some sort of… Read more »

This sort of lunacy makes it obvious why the USA has the FIRST and SECOND Amendments to its Constitution. Anyone who thinks that a purely peaceful protest, with no threats of potential violent resistance, of such tyranny is deluded in thinking that ruination is not the end goal of such terrorists. In fact, Bill’s paraphrasing the public statements of that border town mafioso reinforces the agenda that demands that all celebrate their perversion or be bankrupt. The SECOND is our political big stick that protects our individual rights to own the actual big sticks. The FIRST protects our individual right… Read more »

I’m not going to be nearly as eloquent (or lengthy) as @ACTS (TM) in this thread, but I will applaud his POV and assert my own that I have a 20 foot flag pole outside my property, with a U.S. flag flying on top under which is a “U.S. Army Retired, Still Serving” flag underneath. It’s as it should be. I retired from the Army from active duty status 30 years ago. It’s an entirely different Army than it was back then, but that’s an entirely different subject.

On the matter of flags — Bill is right, a flag is a symbol of allegiance, it is a recognition of submission to an acknowledged political and civil Authority. It is an official symbol developed over deep time and its meaning is specific and powerful. On my flag mast you will see two flags. The top one is always the Flag of the United States of America and the one under that is the Marine Corps Flag. My allegiance is to the United States of America first and foremost in political and civil matters. My loyalty and love are represented… Read more »

I think every Patriotic American should be displaying a United States Flag and I appreciate it when they do. I was married to an Aussie and lived in Australia for a while before we moved to the U.S.. In Australia you almost never see a private display of the Australian flag. Here my Aussie wife commented several times on all the U.S. Flags she was seeing. I’ve lived in other countries around the globe too and we Americans are unique in our display of our flag. I explained to my (now ex) wife that this is because it is OUR… Read more »

Lol about “Sikhs don’t particularly like Muslims” … I was intentionally understating that. I got to know those guys and their family pretty well as I rented office/shop space from them and was in the store almost every day. Their liquor store was two doors away in the same building and had staples besides alcohol. Milk, bread, cigarettes etc. They would invite me to dinner at their homes and send their kids (boy kids only of course) over to my office if they needed computer help. Which I was always glad to make time for and they never abused the… Read more »

Great topic and good points.

However…if I continue to be forced to watch 2 minute+ commercials for hoodies, I will cancel my membership.

Use an ad blocker and you’ll eliminate that problem. I see no ads on any platforms with one of those in place and they are FREE!

Agree w/Alan. Try a newer/safer browser like Brave, DuckDuck, or Firefox which have ad blockers (+/or extensions) … Dump Chrome (Google) and Edge/Bing (MS) asap.

This site does not generate any ad injections. I use all sorts of nasty tricks to block ads and I have them all turned off here. Alan and Rich mean well and they’re good people but if they have blockers running on this site then they wouldn’t know if the site is serving ads or not. They wouldn’t see any ads anyway. The only thing I block here is a tracker called ‘doubleclick.net’ and that’s only because DoubleClick and I have history. That’s a tracker not an ad injector, it has nothing directly to do with ads running on a… Read more »

I’m an American who has lived in Canada for the last 8 years, and it is stories like this that show me there has been an apparent shift towards reason and resiliance to tyranny that is very encouraging.
