Scott, as to necessary additions to songs. There are some hymns that need “Hallelujah brother” in a place that would otherwise be a gap.

Pumping gas. My Dad and his brother had a little logging company, and built a little gas house to keep a gas tank for each of the family, plus diesel and oil and stuff for the business. When my Mom and I were on the way to town, we’d stop for gas. She’d open up the tank and the little hatch in the side of the gas house, unlock the padlock on the door, and I’d go in and hand out the nozzle. We didn’t have your high-tech gauge, so I’d just count so many turns of the crank. This… Read more »

Going directly to BW.com comes up with R/A from 9/10, the only way to get to this one is through the email, the main page hasn’t updated in a week.

For some reason some Right Angle content is posting to the “Members’ Only Blog” page. If you look there you’ll find them, email link or not.

I don’t know why this is happening, there’s been some chatter about it between others and myself.

Having listened to my husband’s auto repair stories for over 40 years, Bill’s segment about working on the Camaro had me rolling on the floor with laughter! Great show!

BTW, not to be a nag but this is the third video in a row that’s indexed to Members Only Blog and not to the Right Angle episode page. So yeah, I guess I’ll keep nagging being as no one seems to be addressing this problem. Or even acknowledging it.

HEY!! Don’t mock geezerhood, you bunch of ingrates! The alternative is much worse.

My uncle used to say “This getting old stuff isn’t for wimps”. He was right about that.

Playing Civ… or you could swap to Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri instead.

Cats… Cat Scratch Fever vs Stray Cat Strut (Brian Setzer) ?

I think I like Marilyn Manson’s Tainted Love version best, but not every day.

Pears are pretentious? I guess I have a fancy tree in my back yard.

What is the difference between Chicken Little and Cassandra?

… Chicken Little is an alarmist who’s never right, the sky is not actually falling. Cassandra was unfailingly right but no one ever believed her. If you are otherwise making some subtle inference I missed it. Not unusual for me, I tend to be highly literal and not a bit subtle. About anything. I’ve never listened to Marilyn Manson at all but will do so now, just to see what you’re talking about. Jane’s Addiction did a very good cover of “Sympathy for the Devil” (which BTW is live, called simply “Sympathy”, and is NOT the “Sons of Anarchy” version)… Read more »

Good to know I managed to do a good deed yesterday. Manson isn’t for everyone, isn’t even for me all the time. I do tend to like the rock “get angry at problems” music style better than the country “cry, mope, and drink” approach. Manson goes in the category with a lot of other harder rock musicians, messengers with a message that is ignored because the messenger is too distracting (or the music is) for some, but reaches others. I was making notes as the video was going along, and should have fleshed out that Chicken Little question to Scott.… Read more »

If a man says he will do something …. he will do it!
There is no need to remind him every six months!!!

That reminds of a line from ‘Defending the Caveman’:
When a woman says she will call; she means that day.
When a man says he will call; he means before he dies.
