Several have also taken to shaving their heads in order to proudly proclaim to the entire world that they are bat-gua— that they had nothing to do with his election.

Yeah, we are of one accord on this. I know you don’t like the idea of expanding the government in any way but I’d go so far as to say that the government should supply free contraceptive birth control, whatever method a woman chooses, to every woman who wants it. There was a time that I supported the idea that in order to obtain government assistance for her children, a woman HAD to utilize some form of birth control – IUD, Norplant (one of the first inserts), tubes tied if she wanted – in order to keep getting the aid. the idea was to stop further kids that couldn’t be raised by the parents. I no longer am in favor of MANDATING that policy, but making it available is certainly an idea I would be ok with even for “free”. As you are pointing out, we know what works for kids. It’s just a matter of having the stones and exercising the political will to do it. We need to take that “thanks to a good Man” principle and expand on it. This I think would be a function of “insure domestic Tranquility”, “promote the general welfare” and a legitimate application of government power.
