Matt Best, when he was with “a certain coffee company”, ran some videos on his YT channel to the tune of “If Veterans Were in Horror Movies.” Very similar set-up, except these guys were using operator tactics on the slashers: ‘The Strangers’: “watch me set off the Claymores in the kitchen.” Zombies: “Fire team! Ranging…200 yards. Sending…three high. Adjust down. Center mass. Head shot. Head shot” A lot like JDaddy’s videos, only less screaming, more gleeful cackling. And mortars. And Humvees. And, yeah, Bill. I like to think I’d handle the situation much the same. Screaming like a girl while… Read more »
Watched the extended version of the jaydaddy and it was such a perfect send up of Hollywood. Should have added a talking dog.
Now THAT is freakin funny! Thank you for the post! I needed the laugh as I had to put my darling little dog to sleep Wednesday.
I am sorry for your loss.
Oh man! I’m sorry for your loss. I lost one June 16 this year. It there is a blog about her here I posted in June. It was incredibly hard because: 1 We never had to put one down before. 2 It was unexpected. She was fine the day before, but got cold, seemed lethargic, and stopped her perpetual motion tail waging. She was bleeding internally, and had hours to live in pain. 3 We expected her to be the last to go, as one is 15 with cartelledge cancer one is 14 nearly 15 ( on about a month),… Read more »
Bert Gummer in Tremors had a lot of firepower and took out more than one of those graboids.
Even lost a cache of survival food to one of those critters.
I’ve only seen the second half of that movie. I came across it while channel flipping in a hotel room. Had a great time making fun of “attack of the killer earth worms from spaaaace!”
Never been a fan of horror movies, since most are either murder porn or jump scares. And now that I think of it, the few that I liked would have been impervious to Normals: Hellraiser (and their many sequels) – supernatural and impervious. These movies embody the term style without substance Poltergeist – tough to shoot a ghost House – Again, dealing with “ghosts”, and this movie is more of a comedic take on the genre Lord of Illusions – Like Hellraiser, Clive Barker’s work. I always thought he was an overrated writer, but he works better visually. But in… Read more »
I’m not into ‘slasher’ movies. I suppose that has something to do with growing up in a funeral home, working in a military mortuary (’67-’68), FD for 25 years, yada yada… And now I am in the 4th quarter, maybe the 9th or 10th inning… anyhow I have been around death for most of my life. It is never pleasant but something we have to deal with.
I haven’t watched the episode yet, but if you want to know why there are no conservatives in slasher movies, watch the swordsman scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
It would make for a short and boring film.
The story I’ve heard is that was not the original plan. It was supposed to a big long battle between whip and sword. Ford, the other actor and many of the crew had Montezuna’s revenge” (diarrhea), so they said “Just shoot him.”
And thus was born one of my favorite scenes.
Was that a Merchant- Ivory film?
Jay Daddy should go into Congress and the House of Representatives to weed out the evil there and THAT would be funny and just.
Reminds me of some of the old Black Rifle Coffee videos. I’m not that into horror/slasher movies, but the parody’s sure tickle my funny bone. Then there’s the contrast between the British and American parodies. Shawn of the Dead: “We don’t have any guns! Bash them on the head with a cricket bat!” Zombieland: “Double tap! Don’t be stingy with your ammo!”
