Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam agrees to withdraw the extradition bill that drove massive crowds to the streets for the past three months, but the protesters almost immediately say she concedes too little, too late. They have four more demands and a commitment to hang in there until they get them. The chant in the streets and message on the Telegram app from Hong Kongers is “Five Demands, Not One Less.” In the midst of high-stakes trade negotiations with mainland China, what, if anything, should President Trump say about this popular movement that inspires students to drown out the Chinese anthem with “Do You Hear the People Sing?” from Les Miserables?
