California’s Prop 25 on this year’s ballot would replace cash bail with a risk assessment algorithm. Civil Rights and justice reform groups have fought for years to eliminate cash bail as it discriminates against the poor, primarily people of color. Now some of those same groups team with bail bondsmen to fight Proposition 25, which some say replaces racism with more racism.
