When a campaign ‘calls a lid’ it means reporters can head for the hotel bar — no more news today. Normally happens late in the day. But the Joe Biden campaign — about 3 days per week — calls a lid early in the morning, and the candidate heads for his isolation bunker. If nothing of interest will happen shortly after dawn, just weeks before the election, is the strategy to stay out of President Trump’s way as he digs his own grave, or is it just less harmful to keep Biden unplugged?
