Why do we need a transgender day of visibility? Isn’t the “reason for being” as a transgender to deflect one’s effort at self-immolation by acting out in public? I think Bill’s right about this and other things like this being intentionally provocative. They haven’t been able to take 2nd Amendment protection away by other means and Lord knows they’ve done their best to do so. The two other incited incidents like the Jan 6th thing Bill brought up are the incels and the replacement theory racists. We haven’t had too many of them and I think partly its that the people most likely to do such are leaky pots… cowardly somewhat or otherwise not able to reach the necessary pressure to continue the analogy. I mostly agree with you but my experience is that it’s a mistake to underestimate the capacity of hot heads to pop a pressure valve. In my lifetime I’ve worked in situations with such people. They create a positive feedback loop among themselves and eventually, it might take a while and several cooler heads may drop out of the process along the way, but eventually a hard core cadre of hot heads coalesces and they get around to doing something stupid.
